Hello and welcome to Yamagata.net! My name is Jay Yamagata, and you have found the home of the Yamagata’s on the Interweb. If you are a regular visitor, you may have noticed a lot of changes around here. I’ve switched our site around a few times the last few months; I was just not satisfied with the last layout, and upgrading to the latest version of WordPress broke my original theme. I think I have found a theme I am happy with, at least for now.
Yamagata.net has been a hobby of mine since the domain name was first registered in 1998. April of 2010 marked Yamagata.net’s 13th birthday. Over its existence, it has been hosted at multiple web hosting providers, and once on my own Windows servers at home, which was way too much work! I hope you enjoy visiting here, as much as I enjoy maintaining it.
While you are here, take peek at my blog – I try to regularly author my own articles. I enjoy writing about technology – applications, gadgets and such, but I sometimes throw in some other topics. My lifestream contains my social updates from Twitter and also Tumblr – a quick blogging platform. I use Tumblr to share articles on technology in general, life-hacking and getting things done. If you cannot tell already, I have a career in IT, and my professional portfolio is available on Linkedin and on my portfolio page. Looking to get in touch?
