Games, Gadgets and Work

I want to get into the habit of posting at least one entry a week. I’m not making any promises, but I will give it my best effort. I guess I can make it a weekly recap of what’s going on, and what’s cool this week.

I’ve downloaded and tried out a free RTS game called “League of Legends”. It (to me) is a mix between Starcraft and Warcraft, and a large helping of PvP. What is impressive about it are the awards the game has won, and the cost. Free. Check it out.

I’ve also ordered my free iPhone 4 bumper.  If you haven’t heard, because of all the complaints and negative press surrounding the iPhone 4 antenna, Apple has announced that they will be giving away a free case (or reimbursing bumper purchases) until September.  I myself had not experienced the “grip of death” per se, but I have notice the normal dropped calls.  The bumper isn’t expected to be delivered until the beginning of September.  Hopefully I can pre-order the Vapor case.

Work’s been busy; between new server setups, datacenter tours, and the laundry list of other projects and tasks on my plate, I worked all day yesterday with updating and installing a Netapp storage shelf in our current filer infrastructure.  I did have a chance to take it easy by the pool today with the family, so not all was lost this weekend.  I also made another theme change today after getting back.  I just wasn’t happy with that blue theme.

See you next week (if not sooner), same bat time, same bat station.
